Sturm Graz face selection issues ahead of their top-of-the-table clash at Red Bull Salzburg. Two veteran players are doubts for the 'Eurofighter' duel on Saturday, September 20th.
The Black-Whites sit fourth in the Bundesliga with 11 points from six games, just one point behind third-placed Salzburg. The last meeting between the sides in March ended 1-1. Christian Ilzer's team comes into the match with a run of two wins and two draws from their last five competitive games, including a 0-0 draw against Rennes in the Europa League. Their next league fixture after the Salzburg clash is a home match against SK Rapid Wien on September 28th.
Ilzer's Selection Headache
The exact names of the injured veterans were not disclosed, but their potential absence presents a tactical puzzle for the manager. The team will need to shore up a defence that has conceded six league goals so far this season. The current lineup and all squad details are available in the squad section.
The result could tighten the standings significantly. A win would see Sturm Graz leapfrog Salzburg and close the gap to leaders Lask Linz to just one point.
