Sturm Graz concluded their final friendly before returning to competitive action with a 3-1 victory over Floridsdorfer AC. The match took place on Thursday, October 2nd, serving as a final tune-up ahead of a key away fixture at Austria Vienna.
Manager Christian Ilzer's side used the opportunity to build match fitness and rhythm. Following a 3-0 defeat to Red Bull Salzburg in their last league outing, a positive response was needed. The win against the regional league opponent provides a confidence boost before the trip to the capital.
Sturm Graz currently sit fourth in the Bundesliga table with 11 points. They trail league leaders Rapid Vienna by seven points. Recent form, with three wins from their last five competitive matches, offers cause for optimism.
The focus now shifts entirely to the next league fixture. Sturm Graz travel to face 10th-placed Austria Vienna on Saturday, October 10th. A win there is vital to keep pace with the top group. The full squad list is available at squad.
